The AP United States Government and Politics examines the relationships between the president, Congress, and the Supreme Court, and explore how different political ideologies and opinions shape American politics.
This course is a high school course with AP designation, which makes it a college level course and examination offered through the College Board and is usually taken by students interested in a career in Political Science or at a minimum fascinated by the American politics.

The AP US Government and Politics exam is 3 hours long and it has 2 sections. The first section includes 55 multiple-choice questions that need to be answered in one hour and 20 minutes. This section makes up 50% of the score. The second section comprises of 4 questions: one concept application question, one quantitative question, one SCOTUS comparison question and one argument essay. The second section makes up 50% of the grade.
In 2022, 57.5% of the test takers passed the AP US Government and Politics with a score of 3 or better.
