ACT is the test that next to SAT is required by certain colleges and universities as part of the admission process. There are major differences between the two tests, the most important one being the Science Section of ACT which SAT does not have. Usually, ACT is recommended for students who are interested in pursuing a STEM-related major.

There are changes to the ACT test starting with April 2025 for online testing or September 2025 for paper and pen testing as announced by the ACT administrators.

• The length of the test is reduced to 125 minutes (2 hours and 5 minutes)
• The multiple answers for ACT math show 4 answers choices instead of 5.
• The candidate can opt to take Science section or not.
• The ACT is offered on paper and pen and online versions.
