Calculus is considered the most difficult math class in high school. It is actually an AP class and usually the students taking AP Calculus AB or BC will pursue a college path focused on math, science or technology.
Tutoring in Los Angeles offers Calculus tutors throughout the area it covers with exceptional quality of service. Due to the complexity of the topics covered, our Calculus tutors, at no surprise, have graduate studies in Math, Physics or Chemistry.
Calculus is the mathematical study of continuous change. It has two major branches, differential calculus and integral calculus. The differential calculus refers to the study of instantaneous rates of change, and the slopes of curves, while the integral calculus refers to the accumulation of quantities, and areas under or between curves.
Calculus is used in every branch of the physical sciences, in computer science, statistics, engineering, economics, business, medicine, demography, and in other fields wherever a problem can be mathematically modeled and an optimal solution is desired. Physics makes particular use of calculus; all concepts in classical mechanics are interrelated through calculus. The mass of an object of known density, the moment of inertia of objects, as well as the total energy of an object within a conservative field can be found by the use of calculus. In the subfields of electricity and magnetism calculus can be used to find the total flux of electromagnetic fields.
Modern calculus is attributed to Isaac Newton and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibnitz who published their work in 17th century, around the same time but Newton in England and Leibnitz in Germany. However, many elements of calculus appeared in ancient Egypt and later Greece, then in China and the Middle East, and still later again in medieval Europe and India.
