Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behavior and can help the students explore the possibility of a career in Psychology, understand and learn how the mind works, personality and behavior of oneself or others, and how to manage and cope with stress for the student’s personal knowledge and benefit.

Usually, Psychology is offered in High School as Introduction to Psychology and AP Psychology, but certain schools may offer some other variations of the course such as Child Development. There are many courses offered by local Los Angeles 2 and 4 year colleges for the Psychology pathway.

The AP Psychology course has 5 units:

3. Development and Learning
4. Social Psychology and Personality
5. Mental and Physical Health

Each one of the 5 units can be covered in the AP test administered by the College Board with 15-25% depending on the version of the test.
